Biological Abstraction

A series of paintings taking microbiological photographs of the human interior and abstracting them through a process of organic painting until the image develops out of recognition. This process explores outward appearances of internal elements, distorted through gestural movement and varied application and subtraction of colour to convey emotion and explore what lies beneath the skin.
